Prescription Products & VCPR
If you need to pick up a prescription medication or other prescription veterinary product from our clinic, a current Veterinary-Client-Patient Relationship (VCPR) is required. A VCPR allows our veterinarian to have enough knowledge of your animals and their health to safely prescribe or dispense medications.
For our large animal clients, maintaining a current VCPR means that one of our veterinarians must have been at your farm or facility within the previous 365 days. This does not necessarily mean that you need to schedule a visit every time you need medication, but we do need to have seen your animals or been to your facility within that one-year period to keep the VCPR current.
Keeping your VCPR current can help prevent delays when you need prescription products and allows our veterinarians to stay familiar with your animals and management practices.
